Documented Proof — My Public Facebook Buy Call, 4 Aug 2023

My public Facebook post dated 4 August 2023: Latest Stock which I Bought is Titan Biotech Ltd, listed at BSE, BSE Code 524717.

My public Facebook post, 4 August 2023 — “Latest Stock which I Bought is Titan Biotech Ltd… BSE Code 524717.” Seen and reacted to by 1,800+ people, in real time.

On 4 August 2023 I told the public — right there on Facebook — that the latest stock I had just bought was Titan Biotech Ltd (BSE: 524717). You can see that post above: 1,800+ reactions, in real time, three years ago to the day. Since then Titan Biotech has been a genuine multibagger — up roughly 650%, about seven-and-a-half times, from the mid-₹50s to over ₹410 today. Here is why I bought an obscure biological-products maker that almost nobody was talking about.

A niche supplier to the health-and-nutrition boom

Titan Biotech, incorporated back in 1992, is a quiet, cGMP- and ISO-certified manufacturer and exporter of biological products — peptones, culture media, gelatin, amino acids, yeast and plant extracts and other fermentation-based inputs. These are the unglamorous raw materials that pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food & beverage, cosmetic, veterinary and agriculture companies must buy to make their own products. It was small, under-followed and boring — and it sat right underneath some of the fastest-growing demand in the country.

The fundamental strengths that made me buy

  • A picks-and-shovels business. Titan doesn’t gamble on one drug or one product — it sells the essential inputs (peptones, media, gelatin, amino acids) that dozens of pharma, nutraceutical and food makers need. You profit from a whole industry’s growth, not a single bet.
  • A genuine export franchise. cGMP- and ISO-certified manufacturing supplying customers across the world — demand diversified well beyond any single market.
  • High returns on capital. A return on capital employed in the mid-20s% — the signature of a quality small business, not a speculative story stock.
  • A structural tailwind. Global growth in pharma, nutraceuticals, protein and collagen, and clean-label food all pull directly on the fermentation-based ingredients Titan makes.
  • A tiny, ignored base. In 2023 this was an overlooked micro-cap with quietly rising profits — exactly the sort of long runway that pays off spectacularly if the market ever wakes up. It did.

Why a small ingredients maker can go up 7×

The mechanics are simple. A profitable, cash-generative niche supplier that the market has priced as a forgotten micro-cap gets re-rated hard once its earnings start compounding and investors finally notice. Titan’s profits have grown fast — a recent quarter saw net profit up roughly 94% year on year — and a low starting valuation did the rest. I’ll be candid: this is a small-cap and it moves violently (it has swung between roughly ₹82 and ₹556 in the last year alone). Bought cheap enough, on a real business with a real tailwind, that volatility worked in my favour.

Don’t take my word for it — it’s on the public record

The proof is above: my own public Facebook post from 4 August 2023, naming Titan Biotech Ltd and its BSE code 524717, seen and reacted to by more than 1,800 people at the time. No hindsight, no back-dating — a documented, time-stamped call, three years before you are reading this.

“The best small-caps are often the boring, profitable suppliers everyone else overlooks — buy the picks and shovels, not the lottery ticket.”

The lesson for you

Titan Biotech is why I hunt for cheap, profitable, cash-generating niche exporters that the market has simply forgotten to look at. It didn’t need to be a household name to be a superb investment — it needed a low price, honest earnings, and a giant industry quietly buying what it makes. Find that combination early, document it, and let time do the work.
